Responsibilities

Direct the development, implementation, and management of Metro State University’s Human Resources department
Oversee employee relations, HR operations, payroll and benefits, talent acquisition, compensation & classification, and performance management
Supervise the work and performance of HR professional staff
Facilitate an inclusive, collaborative, and results-oriented culture with a focus on continuous improvement

Required

Three years professional HR experience; Bachelors in HR or related field may substitute for 1 year experience and Masters in HR or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience
Experience with federal and Minnesota employment and personnel laws and rules
Strong analytical skills involving data analysis, data management and use of metrics and analytics to drive decisions
Experience in building trusting and collegial relationships, using ability to collaborate to find creative, timely, and effective solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in Office 365, Microsoft Suite, including SharePoint, MS Teams and MS Forms

Preferred

PHR or SPHR certification
Previous supervising or leadership experience
Previous Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, or State of Minnesota Human Resource experience
Experience in labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, classification concepts, human resource information systems (HRIS), talent acquisition, and performance management
