Sr FPGA Electrical Engineer
Peraton Labs is the research and development arm of Peraton, a national security company. The Sr FPGA Electrical Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and operational phases of projects, working closely with a diverse team to develop FPGA-based solutions and software interfaces for embedded devices.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and testing of FPGA based solutions, related software and electronics for experimental and production systems
Architect embedded solutions that meet system requirements
Guide the development and engage in the work to test firmware & software as well as document and fix bugs
Support the development and review of documentation packages including Use Cases, Data Flow Diagrams, State Machine Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams and Test Plans
Develop embedded computing and digital signal processing designs and applications
Provide expertise in analyzing FPGA designs and refactoring as needed
Qualification
Required
A degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering is required with the following experience levels: BS with 8 or more years of experience, MS with 6 or more years of experience, PhD with 3 or more years of experience
Experience using system requirements to develop test harnesses for FPGA designs that can simulate models' requirements before implementation commences
Extensive experience with FPGA development using tools like AMD's Vivado and VHDL
Experienced in generating and reading State Machine, Logic, Flow, and Interconnection Diagrams
Experience with software version control tools such as GIT or SVN
Ability to communicate designs through presentations and be comfortable providing material for review
Some experience with C, C++ and related debugging tools like GDB
Experience working with analog and digital data acquisition and signal conditioning techniques
Proficient in writing technical documentation in MS word and PowerPoint
Ability to be onsite five days a week when required
Ability to obtain Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship
Preferred
Experience with electrical or computer engineering design and development
Experience with Python, and MATLAB + Simulink for automating data collection and analysis
Experience with in-depth analysis of electrical systems and input/output signals for reverse engineering purposes
