As a Transportation Engineer-in-Training, you will assist in designing roadway and transportation projects while collaborating with project managers and senior engineers to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of transportation engineering designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadways, intersections, and multimodal facilities
Perform design calculations for geometric layout, pavement design, drainage, traffic control, and safety improvements
Support the development of project documentation including reports, technical memoranda, and bid documents
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including TDOT, municipalities, and contractors to coordinate project needs
Stay current with transportation engineering standards, tools, and technologies to support high-quality project delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Strong interest in transportation engineering, roadway design, and traffic operations
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to pursuing professional development and eventual PE licensure
Preferred
Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D
