Staff/Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and products using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, Fusion360, CATIA, or similar programs
Develop and validate mechanical structures for an autonomous sensor and compute suite, ensuring robustness and performance in demanding environments
Collaborate closely with Industrial Designers to translate aesthetic and ergonomic requirements into manufacturable designs, optimizing for cost and assembly efficiency
Analyze project requirements and perform calculations to determine the feasibility, cost, and performance of new and existing equipment
Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
Develop and execute test plans for prototypes to ensure designs meet all necessary specifications and quality standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing personnel, and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution
Oversee the manufacturing process for your designs, providing support, DFM adjustments, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
Conduct research on new materials and technologies to improve product performance and reduce costs
Qualification
Required
10+ years of hands-on experience in debugging and diagnosing mechatronic systems issues in both HW and SW and working on machines (disassembling and assembling parts)
Proactive, organized, good communication and collaboration skills
Worked with latest sensor technology for autonomous driving platforms incl. sensor calibrations
Experience with autonomous vehicle sensors and compute suite hardware and automotive mechanical and electrical systems is highly valued!
