Responsibilities

Leads the development of top-level electrical system architecture for UAS platforms, from concept to integration

Serve as technical lead and design authority for electrical subsystems, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and customer requirements

Conduct trade studies to evaluate component options and system-level impacts; make data-driven architecture decisions

Define and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and specify subsystem requirements to ensure seamless compatibility and performance

Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams to ensure electrical system integrity across the entire product lifecycle

Guide efforts in electrical integration, testing, and validation of UAS systems

Mentor junior electrical engineers and foster a culture of technical rigor and innovation within the engineering team

Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies, documentation practices, and system-level engineering processes

Required

10+ years professional experience as an aircraft system architect

Demonstrated capability in high-level architecture development for UAS or airborne platforms

Advanced expertise in electrical engineering, including circuit design, power electronics, embedded systems, and signal integrity

Proven experience in developing and maintaining ICDs and defining electrical subsystem requirements

Strong background in trade study execution and component evaluation for system optimization

Experience supporting troubleshooting and root cause investigations in complex systems

Significant background in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Airborne ISR, or low-cost expendable aircraft design

Background in regulated industries such as Aerospace, Defense, or Government contracting

Bachelors degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance
