Interns will assist with various transportation and construction engineering projects, including grading, concrete paving, and bridge construction, while learning about material sampling, testing, and project documentation.

Responsibilities
Assist the project technician and engineering staff with sampling and testing of the materials incorporated into the project
Inspect the process conducted for construction of the project
Assist the survey crew
Learn the process required for conducting source documentation for payment of the quantities of material incorporated into the project and work conducted for construction of the project

APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
