Intern - Transportation Engineering (Summer)
The State of South Dakota's Department of Transportation is seeking interns for the Summer session to support their mission of improving transportation. Interns will engage in various tasks related to project administration, inspection, and material testing, working alongside experienced staff to gain practical knowledge and skills.

Project administration duties

Checking materials
Completing culvert and guardrail inventory
Assisting office personnel, maintenance, and supervisors on tasks
Assignments will allow you to work in a variety of environments, from the office to the great outdoors
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
