They are seeking a Superintendent of Maintenance Engineering to lead a team responsible for maintaining the performance and reliability of high-precision equipment in metals manufacturing for aerospace applications.

Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of reliability, maintenance and Process Control and Automation engineers as well as instrumentation and calibration technicians supporting a 24/7 manufacturing facility

Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Develop staffing plans, performance metrics, training programs, and career development paths

Leverage preventive and predictive maintenance systems and programs to improve equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and extend asset life

Coordinate with production, quality, and project/process engineering teams to support maintenance activities and operational priorities

Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions for critical equipment failures

Provide technical leadership on complex equipment systems, including thermal processing, high-pressure forming, and metal cutting/machining

Collaborate with engineering to improve equipment design, reliability, and maintainability

Monitor and report on key maintenance KPIs

Support capital equipment selection, installation, and commissioning

Manage budget and vendor relationships

Champion reliability improvements and asset lifecycle management

Lead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM initiatives to improve maintenance efficiency

Identify and eliminate waste in maintenance processes

Foster innovation and use of emerging technologies like sensors, IIoT, and condition-based monitoring

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical (with controls /automation focus), Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience

3+ years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering within heavy industrial or metals manufacturing environments

2+ years of leadership experience leading cross-functional maintenance teams

Strong knowledge of aerospace quality systems (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) and maintenance practices in regulated environments
