Performing effective and efficient decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of patient care equipment, surgical instruments, and medical supplies
Accountable for sterilization documentation
Knowledgeable in all processes relates to unit sterilizers
Utilize knowledge and skills to work independently in all job functions
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
New hires effective February 1, 2014 must obtain and maintain Central Service Certification (CBSPD or CRCST) or Surgical Technology Certification (CST) within 1 year of date of hire or transfer into the position
Less than 1y work experience OR sterile processing / surgical technology school graduate OR CRCST, CSPDT, or CST certification
Knowledge in the use of autoclave, steris, washer/disinfection, sterrad, etc
Must possess manual dexterity, computer skills, and be able to work under pressure
Effective oral and written communication skills
Must be able to read, spell and do simple math, write clearly and understand written and oral instructions
Ability to function successfully as part of a team
Preferred
One or more years of Central Service Certification (CBSPD or CRCST) or Surgical Technology Certification (CST)
1-2 years of Sterile Processing or equivalent OR experience
