General Accountant
Seabrook Land Company is seeking a General Accountant to play a pivotal role in their accounting operations. The General Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, facilitate payments to vendors, and ensure compliance with accounting procedures while collaborating with various departments to support financial reporting and budgeting.

Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and other financial reports to provide insights into business performance
Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives
Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed
Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
Assists with posting transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or relative experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proven experience years of experience in accounting or finance roles
Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
Maintain and improve data integration between financial systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting principles
All candidates must pass a background check prior to employment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
CPA certification or CPA eligibility desired
