Highway Engineering Design Task Lead

The Highway Engineering Design Task Lead will provide technical leadership and design coordination to highway engineering designers on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area.

Responsibilities
Technical guidance and verification of design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details
Technical guidance and verification of rigid and flexible pavement designs
Technical guidance and verification of signing and pavement marking plans and details
Technical guidance and verification of construction phasing plans and maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews
Technical guidance and verification of coordinated utility conflict resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs
Technical guidance and verification of construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
Technical guidance and verification of 3D Model in OpenRoads
Technical guidance and verification of technical calculations and reports per client and/or internal AECOM standards
Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures
Verify completion of interdisciplinary technical reviews
Contribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budget
Contribute to the development of proposals and other marketing efforts to win new work
Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations
Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client’s scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making
Provide support to AECOM project managers and technical department managers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, with highway transportation projects located in the United States
Professional Engineering License (PE) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or ability to obtain reciprocity/comity based on active licensure in another state
Design experience working on projects for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, SEPTA, and/or City of Philadelphia
Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Demonstrated knowledge of OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus ten (10) years of related experience with highway transportation projects located in the United States
Design experience working on projects for Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and/or Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC)
Ability and willingness to work within a hybrid environment with hybrid teams
Ability and willingness to offer mentorship to various levels of staff
Active participation in local professional societies and/or organizations
