Gear Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
Be our subject matter expert in gears
Design, develop, and optimize gear manufacturing processes (machining, hobbing, grinding, heat treat)
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure quality and performance
Select tools, materials, and machines for gear production
Design fixtures and special tooling to support manufacturing
Lead and support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to support gear manufacturing
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve challenges
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for gear-related issues
Stay current with industry trends, gear standards (AGMA, ISO), and emerging technologies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related engineering field
3+ years' experience in gear manufacturing or related fields
Solid understanding of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and gear cutting methods
Familiarity with CNC machines, CAD/CAM, and gear design software
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills
Preferred
Experience with gear design preferred
Heat treat and metallurgy experience are pluses
Lean manufacturing experience; Black Belt certification a plus
