Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist (Galveston)

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist will assist with cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to established standards under the guidance of credentialed professionals.

Responsibilities
Prepares patient for Cardiac Cath and EP procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education
Monitors and documents hemodynamics and procedural events including moderate sedation per Moderation policy and departmental guidelines
Competent in identifying cardiac rhythms, waveforms and abnormal ranges and taking appropriate intervention
Demonstrates ability to perform different aspects of responsibilities within the department such as circulator, monitor, scrub and holding area personnel assistant
Provides for patient safety related to age and condition. Assists with patient restraints and maintains precautions. Collects, reports, and documents data related to patient needs/emergencies and unusual patient and family behavior
Demonstrates knowledge and skills to interpret and respond to patient data and hemodynamic responses during pre, intra and post Cath and EP procedures
Performs and reports point of care testing (POCT)
Provides and maintains a clean, safe environment and performs and/or assists others to perform proper aseptic and sterile technique, isolation procedures and infection control measures
May support physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular ailments with the use of a catheter determined by credentials
Operates computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images
Practices proper entries and records on Radiology Information System, Cardiac Catheterization System, and Hospital Information System
Monitors radiation exposure including examination of the lead aprons for the department dependent on specialty
Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care dependent on specialty
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Associate of Science degree or completion of a Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent training
ARRTR and Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist
RCIS
BLS / ACLS
Preferred
Cardiac Cath and/or Interventional Radiology
