Start in 2026 SummerRoyal Switchgear, a PGC Company, is offering an Engineering Co-op program starting in Summer/Fall 2026. This program provides students with the opportunity to gain industry experience through alternating semesters of work and academic study, while participating in various engineering responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Assist with the design, testing, and documentation of custom switchgear components
Support production and manufacturing engineering teams with process improvements
Conduct time studies and analyze workflow efficiency
Collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to troubleshoot and improve equipment
Gather and analyze production data to identify cost savings or efficiency gains
Participate in root cause analysis and help implement corrective actions
Create or update CAD drawings and engineering documentation
Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
Attend and participate in team meetings, project briefings, and cross-functional workshops
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related)
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Sophomore standing or higher by credit hours
Strong communication, teamwork, and CAD/technical skills
Availability to work full-time (40 hrs/week) during assigned co-op semesters
Ability to commit to multiple alternating semesters of work/school
Reliable transportation to Bessemer, AL (limited public transit options)
