Responsibilities
Automate CAD Workflows; Cut Design-to-Production Time
Drive CAD architecture and standards with a focus on Onshape, while ensuring processes and integrations are multi-CAD ready
Establish and enforce modeling and drawing best practices, including large assemblies, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, templates, naming, and numbering
Build and maintain automation scripts and lightweight internal tools to replace repetitive tasks with reliable, streamlined workflows
Deliver API integrations across CAD, PLM, ERP, and MES, defining canonical metadata models, mappings, validation rules, retries, and alerting
Own PLM release workflows that are tool agnostic; manage lifecycles, change objects, roles and gates, and the health of CAD to PLM synchronization
Ensure data hygiene and access control by maintaining metadata standards, permission models, audit trails, and deprecating legacy paths
Lead CAD system governance, including user group management, support standards, training, and upgrade/change planning with robust testing and communication protocols
Qualification
Required
Extensive CAD design experience with complex assemblies and production drawings that can be leveraged to coach best practices and release discipline
Modern programmer and API integrator who ships maintainable code; comfortable with Python, TypeScript, API development, CI/CD workflows, testing and system monitoring
Skilled in rapidly building simple, user-friendly internal tool interfaces using React or similar frameworks, with a strong emphasis on clarity and thorough documentation
Experienced administering PDM and PLM and scaling workflows in complex programs, aerospace or similar environments are preferred
