As a Senior Flight Test Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying the function and capabilities of modified flight control systems and ensuring proper test operations for aircraft. You will engage with various teams to assess test requirements and act as the responsible engineer during flight test campaigns.

Responsibilities

Verify the function and capabilities of modified flight control systems, for a remotely operated autoflight system
Ensure the proper build-up of functions and capabilities, beginning in the lab and ending up on the vehicle
Verify the end-to-end functionality of the system and ensure the ability to assess all desired test requirements
Engaging with many teams throughout the organization and having a firm understanding of the vehicle’s capabilities
Act as the responsible engineer for the vehicle and often as test director

Qualification

Experimental flight test experienceDrafting test plansSystem-level risk assessmentsFAA private pilot's licenseAeronautical VHF radio callsComputer science languagesTeam collaborationCommunication skills

Required

Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline
7+ years of experimental flight test experience
Prior experience drafting test plans, test cards, test hazard analyses, and acting as test director during a flight/mission
Experience with making aeronautical VHF radio calls
Demonstrated ability to complete system-level risk assessments
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred

FAA private pilot's (or greater) license
Experience assembling components in a production environment
Experience with computer science languages (Python or similar)
