Responsibilities

Work with other component, system, and manufacturing leads on the integration of the subsystems and work through emergent design issues

Work with testing organization to develop plans for functional and qualification tested

Work with project managers and subsystem/component leads to develop project schedules

Lead complex technical projects, coordinating diverse teams to accomplish project goals while meeting established schedule and budget requirements

Identify and define technical issues, risks and challenges, direct efforts to successful resolution

Bring engineering rigor to resolution of problems that are sometimes loosely- or only partially defined, requiring experience within given discipline

Incorporate the use of industry, regulatory, or NRC/DOE/AMSE codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to nuclear reactors in design activities

Provide technical guidance, direction, and collaborate with other personnel including partners such as national laboratories, sub-contractors, partners, suppliers, fabricators, and customers

Required

BS in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred) (alternate degrees such as nuclear, aerospace, structural engineering, or materials science, etc. will be considered with component design experience)

Mechanical PE license

Knowledge in system and component level design

Knowledge and experience with HVAC

Significant experience in a technical leadership role, as an individual contributor or leading a small technical team – with aspects of design, analysis and manufacturing

Experience with mechanical behavior of materials and components under irradiation conditions

Minimum of 8+ years of experience required or 6 with an advanced degree (10 plus years of applicable experience preferred)

US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Familiarity with advanced reactor technology and designs
