Registered Nurse, Float Pool Internal Agency

They are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool who will provide direct patient care, perform house supervisor responsibilities, and ensure quality nursing care is delivered throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice
Performs House Supervisor responsibilities as needed to meet the needs of the facility
Delegate and coordinated nursing care throughout the hospital and ensures that quality nursing care is delivered
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment
Documents patient care given
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff
Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs
Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints
Qualification
Required
Current state RN license or a current multistate compact license
Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
BCLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS certification
NIHSS certification per unit specific requirements within 90 days of hire
2 Years acute care nursing experience
Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days of hire
Critical thinking skills
Decisive judgment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
