East River Medical Imaging is dedicated to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services. They are seeking a full-time Mammography Technologist who will operate radiologic equipment and perform mammography procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing diseases.

Responsibilities

Prepares and positions patient for mammography procedures

Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation

Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors based on patient characteristics and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy

Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff

Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control

Explains purpose and procedures for breast self-examination to patients and answers patients' questions

Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician

Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed

Perform Quality Assurance tests as required by the MQSA

Assist with the MQSA inspection

Required

Minimum of 3 year's experience

Ability to perform diagnostic and screening Mammography as well as Stereotactic biopsies

Must have NYS RT license and ARRT (M) certification

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office word processing software

Mammography specialty training certification (ARRT-MG), NYS RT License with Injection, active BLS training
