Occupational Therapist (OT) – Brooklyn, NY – | School Day or After-School – Part-Time
Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in Brooklyn's NYC Department of Education schools. The role involves delivering personalized therapy interventions and collaborating with school teams and families to promote student growth and independence.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality occupational therapy services for students in individual and group settings, as mandated by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP)
Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
Create and execute evidence-based treatment plans utilizing sensory integration, motor learning principles, and adaptive strategies
Adjust and modify classroom environments, learning materials, and assistive devices to improve student participation and independence
Work closely with parents, teachers, related service providers, and school administrators to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes
Offer guidance and training to educational staff on positioning, adaptive equipment usage, and sensory strategies
Detailed and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes per DOE regulations and Knowledge Road standards
Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, providing expert occupational therapy insights and evidence-based recommendations
Qualification
Required
Current valid NYS license as an Occupational Therapist in good standing
NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in school-based or pediatric settings
Competency in electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms
NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete before start
