Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in NYC Department of Education schools. The role involves providing individualized therapy interventions to help students develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-quality occupational therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, as mandated by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP)
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and activities of daily living skills
Develop and execute evidence-based treatment plans utilizing sensory integration, motor learning principles, and adaptive strategies
Modify and adapt classroom environments, learning materials, and assistive technology to enhance student participation and independence
Collaborate extensively with parents, teachers, related service providers, and school administrators to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes
Offer consultation and training to educational staff on positioning, adaptive equipment use, and sensory strategies
Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE regulations and Knowledge Road standards
Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert occupational therapy insights and evidence-based recommendations

Qualification

NYS Occupational Therapist licenseNBCOT registrationSchool-based experienceElectronic documentation proficiencyCollaboration skillsCommunication skills

Required

Current valid NYS license as an Occupational Therapist in good standing
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) registration
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based or pediatric setting
Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms
NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain prior to start
