Shipping Assistant/Print Production Tech
BJU Press is dedicated to providing transformational products and services for Christian educators. The Shipping Assistant/Print Production Tech will support operations in both the Distribution Center and the Print Shop, assisting with shipping functions and production tasks while also taking on supervisory responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities
Work required shiftwork including overtime and Saturdays during peak season (May-Sept) and as necessary
Assist department Supervisors/Manager with various duties as needed
Perform all daily opening and closing procedures as needed
Assume shift supervisor responsibilities in the absence of all department supervisors/manager
Assist with management of production/restock flow throughout the warehouse
Manage release and completion of orders
Assist in preparing/loading outbound shipments for FedEx and other daily shipments
Process international shipments and prepares them for pickup (including USPS)
Maintain adequate funding for USPS shipping accounts (Endicia)
Insure that all RUSH orders are completed in a timely manner
Assist with picking/packing when needed
Assist in researching/resolving weight verification and other issues
Assist Customer Service personnel in researching/resolving shipping problems
Supervise customer pick-up window as needed
Monitor automated systems and equipment and reports problems to appropriate personnel
Conduct training for new personnel
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Learn & understand job ticket/work order to verify correct specifications for each job
Set up and run jobs on various printers, finishing, and bindery equipment
Follow shop schedule and supervisor's direction in prioritization of tasks, record all activities in data collection program
Perform regular and preventative maintenance as well as trouble shooting and repairs on equipment as needed
Properly load, identify, and stage prior to, during, and after completion
Maintain a safe and orderly working environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (four-year college or university)
No prior related experience
