Ophthalmic Scribe
Pacific Eye Surgeons is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to work closely with physicians and clinical staff to document patient encounters in real-time during ophthalmic examinations. This role is essential for improving workflow efficiency and ensuring high-quality medical records while the provider focuses on patient care.

Responsibilities
Accurately and efficiently document all elements of the patient visit, including history, physical examination, assessments, diagnostic results, and treatment plans
Record information dictated by the ophthalmologist during the patient encounter
Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements
Assist in preparing the patient’s chart prior to examination by gathering past medical history, medications, allergies, and any previous ophthalmic notes
Follow the physician’s lead to transcribe procedures, tests, diagnoses, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions
Ensure proper coding and documentation for billing purposes
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Provide general administrative and clerical support as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in EMR systems
Strong typing skills (60+ WPM recommended) with excellent accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, dependable, and professional demeanor
Preferred
Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical/ophthalmology setting is strongly preferred
Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and medications
