Responsibilities
Assists in the admission process by completing demographic registration information and admission history, including allergies, special needs, valuables, etc. Collects data which includes the patient’s vital signs and portions of the admission record
Performs personal cares and comforts
Performs procedures according to physician order and nursing delegation, based on validation and skill level, i.e., performance of blood specimen collection, non-blood specimen collection, etc
Schedules tests, therapies and procedures according to standard operating procedure
Performs equipment set-up, maintenance, operation and cleaning per established guidelines, i.e., warmers, fetal monitors, pumps, sterile equipment and supplies, etc
Transports and/or transfers patients within or outside of the facility per delegation, physician or patient preference
Assists with the discharge process in newborn nursery checking charts and making sure everything is done for discharge
Identifies high risk situations and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization
Qualification
Required
Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management System
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) | American Academy of Pediatrics (RQI Partners) | Within 5 Months of Start Date | Learning Management System
Must have UAP w/ Two Year Surgical Tech Diploma
Required: Associates - Surgical Technologist
This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members
