Responsibilities

Assist in the design and analysis of traction power distribution systems, including substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and third rail systems
Support the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts
Perform calculations related to voltage drop, current flow, and power system performance
Assist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documents
Conduct field inspections and site visits to gather data and observe construction activities
Assist in the testing and commissioning of traction power equipment
Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing traction power systems
Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required

Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and must have completed at least one year of study
Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for the position
Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship

Preferred

Basic understanding of electrical power systems and circuit analysis
Familiarity with AC and DC power concepts
Strong interest in railway or transit systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver's license (may be required for site visits)
Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is a plus
