Responsibilities
Build features like claimed domains to enable secure, automated provisioning and identity governance across large enterprises
Design and implement a next-generation access control system — including role-based access control (RBAC), request/approval flows for admins, and tiered admin roles that scale with complex organizations
Expose these capabilities through secure, developer-friendly public APIs, enabling enterprise admins to integrate provisioning, governance, and audit into their existing workflows
Own full-stack product changes end to end from backend policy enforcement to admin-facing workflows to ensure these enterprise features are intuitive, reliable, and secure
Propose and implement designs for well-architected, scalable systems in collaboration with the broader Hex team
Qualification
Required
5+ years of software engineering experience
Hands-on familiarity with enterprise integrations: SSO, SCIM-based provisioning, audit logs, MFA, delegated access
Experience working in a remote-first team and strong communication skills in this context
A passion for technical collaboration, including RFCs, code reviews, and architecture discussions
Deep interest in the data space, with a love for shipping great products and empowering end users
A strategic mindset that balances business and product goals with engineering excellence. You understand tradeoffs between user value and technical complexity, and operate pragmatically
A willingness to make changes anywhere in the stack to land impact
An ability to lead initiatives while mentoring and collaborating with fellow engineers
