INTERNSHIP–LIMITED COMMISSION RANGER– STATE FOREST STATE PARK
The Colorado Department of Revenue is seeking an intern for a temporary position as a Limited Commission Ranger at State Forest State Park. The role involves extensive customer service and public contact while enforcing park laws and regulations, assisting in daily park operations, and conducting maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities
Intern’s time will be divided between all sections of the park: Maintenance, Park Ranger, Visitor Services, and Interpretive/Education Programs. This position will assist with all areas of daily park operations
Interns will be commissioned as unarmed law enforcement officers position (Title 33 Park Rangers), enforcing park laws and regulations, issuing citations for violations, patrol park areas by motor vehicle, Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV), snowmobiles and/or foot. Park Rangers respond to emergencies and resolve visitor complaints. Park Rangers complete reports and may be required to appear in court
Assists in Visitor Services operations, revenue collection/verification, accounting, deposits, and education/ interpretive programs, assuring quality customer service and accuracy
Conducts general park maintenance and cleaning of public facilities, including restrooms, vault toilets, campsites, picnic areas, trails, etc
Operates and performs routine maintenance on State-owned vehicles and equipment
May assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, snow removal, electrical work, transporting materials and supplies, and perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must be free of felony convictions or pending charges-Consideration will be given to all other previous violations of law, including misdemeanor violations, domestic violence, traffic, and conservation laws
Must have or be able to attain First Aid and CPR certifications
Must be able to perform physical work in adverse conditions
Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays
Must complete a comprehensive background check
Must attend and complete required Park Ranger training
Must have ability to work with little supervision
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
