Responsibilities

Properly identifies patients, reviews orders and selects diagnostic x-ray protocol in order to maximize quality and safe patient care

Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray (HIS, RIS, PACS, Envision)

Be knowledgeable and practice ALARA principles including proper shielding of patients

Understand types, amount and administration of various contrast media and be able to react in response to adverse contrast reactions

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Performs “front desk” responsibilities as required to ensure optimal patient care

Maintain schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume

Assist in orienting new employees, and training radiography students

Participates in PI projects and other duties as assigned

Qualification

Registered Radiologic TechnologistARRT (RT) certificationMaryland Radiation Technologist licenseBLS certificationRadiography experienceRIS/PACS experienceCustomer service skillsEffective verbal skillsBasic PC skillsCritical thinking skillsEffective written skills

Required

High school or GED

Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography

ARRT (RT)

State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license

Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Strong customer service & critical thinking skills

Actions and attitudes support Adventist HealthCare's mission and RISES values

Effective verbal and written skills

Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Basic PC skills including RIS/PACS experience

Preferred

2 years radiography experience preferred
