Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues on existing packaging equipment
Provide technical support to field service technicians and customer service teams
Design and implement retrofit solutions, including schematic updates and control system upgrades
Travel to customer facilities as needed for installation support, system diagnostics, and retrofit implementation
Assist in documenting changes and creating updated schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
Program and modify PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems to enhance machine functionality
Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to analyze recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
Up to 30% travel within North America
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
2+ years of experience with electrical controls systems, ideally in the packaging or automation industry
Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred)
Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical and control panel schematics
Willingness to travel domestically for on-site customer support (approx. 25–40%)
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working directly with customers and field teams
Preferred
Experience with retrofit projects or aftermarket support in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with UL, NEMA, and CE standards
Knowledge of servo motor systems and industrial networking
