Assistant Professor – Economics/Finance
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton is inviting qualified applicants for a Full-time Assistant Professor position in Economics/Finance within the Business Department starting September 1, 2026. The role involves delivering a variety of courses, advising students, contributing to departmental initiatives, and engaging with local businesses to enhance student learning experiences.

Responsibilities
Delivering and developing a variety of Economics and Finance (and other business) courses in the face-to-face, online, and hybrid (flex) formats
Advising students enrolled in the Business Department majors, guiding them through their academic and career pathways
Contributing to the strategic initiatives of the Business Department
Actively participating in faculty governance and other university service activities
Engaging with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community organizations to create partnerships that benefit students and enhance their learning experiences
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Economics or Finance or equivalent
Preferred
Three or more years of teaching at the college level
Managerial experience working in corporate finance or economic setting
Experience working in or with a Financial Trading Lab in an academic setting
Experience mentoring people in the field of finance and/or economics
Experience building relationships with corporate and industry partners
