Knowledge Road is a company dedicated to enhancing the mental health and academic success of students in Brooklyn. They are seeking a part-time Mental Health Counselor to provide essential psychological services to students in NYC Department of Education schools, addressing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges through evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities
Deliver direct, high-quality individual and group counseling services to students, as required by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP)
Address a comprehensive range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and complex psychological conditions
Perform psychological assessments and evaluations to inform treatment planning and educational recommendations
Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans utilizing various therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique developmental and cultural needs of each student
Partner closely with parents, teachers, school administrators, and other mental health professionals to build a holistic and supportive learning environment
Keep meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in alignment with DOE regulations, HIPAA requirements, and Knowledge Road standards
Take an active role in IESP/IEP meetings, contributing expert psychological insights and recommendations to support student progress and educational planning
Qualification
Required
NYS license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or related field
A minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychological services to children and adolescents
Competence with electronic documentation systems and teletherapy platforms
NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to complete prior to start
Preferred
Experience in a school-based setting or educational environment
Specialized training in child and adolescent therapy modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, play therapy, family therapy)
Experience with psychological assessment and testing
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages prevalent in Brooklyn schools
