Responsibilities
Responsible for design and post design efforts on roadway and/or drainage plans
Engineer roadway and drainage design projects including limited access tolled, interstate, rural and urban roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, complete streets, and trail/sidewalk projects
Lead production teams in roadway plans preparation and development efforts
Prepare geometric analysis and calculations in support of designs and establish design criteria, methods, practices, and procedures
Review plans for conformance with scope of services and design standards
May be responsible for the review and sealing of own projects
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Interaction with Stantec clients, including marketing efforts
Develop and/or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and review plans for conformance with FDOT, County, and municipal design standards and criteria
Qualification
Required
Experience in designing roadway design projects
Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies
Possesses excellent time-management skills; Thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources
Thorough understanding of design standards/criteria, codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions
Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
Experience in Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) analysis and plan development
Experience in roadway pavement design analysis and development
Ability to work in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak and 3D Engineering Modeling software
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the State of Florida or the ability to attain within 6 months
5+ years related experience in Transportation roadway design
Preferred
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design experience a plus
Experience in the use of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 preferred
Experience developing, negotiating, and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets
