Senior Vice President, Development, GMHC
Charity Search Group is representing GMHC, the world’s first HIV/AIDS service organization, which is seeking a Senior Vice President of Development to lead its fundraising operations. The SVP will be responsible for developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy and overseeing a team to achieve significant revenue growth while enhancing donor engagement and community outreach.

Responsibilities
Design and lead a comprehensive development strategy to grow revenue from $7M to $10M and ultimately $12–15M within five years
Strengthen existing revenue streams while identifying new opportunities for diversified, sustainable support
Build systems and infrastructure to support long-term fundraising performance and donor retention
Lead the vision and execution of high-impact fundraising events that drive both revenue and visibility
Partner across departments and with board members to activate donor networks and event attendance
Ensure consistent, compelling donor communications that align with GMHC’s refreshed brand and community voice
Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and prospects, with a focus on five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts
Oversee a growing planned giving program and ensure effective strategies for long-term legacy support
Expand and deepen corporate and foundation partnerships, including event sponsorships and programmatic grants
Supervise and support a dedicated development team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive work culture
Partner with the CFO, Executive Team and Board of Directors to elevate fundraising capabilities across the organization
Serve as a visible, engaged member of the executive leadership team
Leverage GMHC’s investment in brand realignment and increased public awareness to enhance fundraising outreach and impact
Align development goals with marketing and communications efforts to support consistent messaging and engagement
Champion a mission-driven, equity-centered approach to philanthropy and relationship-building
Qualification
Required
Experience in leading and expanding fundraising operations
Proven track record of achieving revenue growth in a nonprofit environment
Strong strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making skills
Experience in donor engagement and relationship management
Ability to manage and develop a team effectively
Experience in designing and executing multi-channel fundraising strategies
Experience with major gifts, corporate partnerships, and planned giving
Strong communication skills for donor engagement and organizational representation
Ability to collaborate across departments and with board members
Commitment to a mission-driven, equity-centered approach to philanthropy
Preferred
Experience in the HIV/AIDS sector or related health disparities
Familiarity with high-impact fundraising events
Experience in cultivating high-net-worth individuals and prospects
Experience in overseeing planned giving programs
Experience in brand alignment and public awareness initiatives
