Responsibilities

Design and execute experiments investigating viral gene function

Lead assay development and in vitro infection studies

Analyze transcriptional, translational, and mutational profiles

Maintain compliance with GLP and biosafety regulations

Supervise laboratory staff and coordinate project execution

The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team

The contractor is expected to write reports and publications, and present their findings in meetings

Required

Proficient in qPCR, Western blotting, and gene editing tools

Familiar with regulatory guidelines for therapeutic development

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have desired experience working in a research laboratory

The contractor shall have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in several areas, and their ability to conduct independent research through publication of several technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications

Demonstrates experience managing a research laboratory and a small cadre of technicians

Possesses good written and oral communication skills

Master's degree in virology, microbiology, or related field

Minimum 6+ years in molecular virology and laboratory research leadership

Experience in viral genome manipulation and reverse genetics

Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required

Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required
