Responsibilities
A Communications professional who is responsible and accountable to the Director of Communications and the Director of Facilities Management
They are responsible for handling all types of calls and emergencies throughout the hospital, as well as, knowing the use of all communications equipment (switchboards) and specialized equipment, i.e. TTY (for hearing impaired)
Post cannot be left until relief arrives
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
One year experience preferred
Requires 80% sitting and 20% standing or walking
Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching is required
Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks
Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment
Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking
Ability to lift 25 lbs
Ability to foster collaborative relationships
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to organize and synthesize new information
Ability to prioritize tasks
Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills
Demonstrates flexibility
Ability to multi-task
Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled

May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary
