One Brooklyn Health is seeking a Technologist in Radiologic to perform radiographs for diagnosing diseases in patients. The role involves conducting x-ray examinations, ensuring patient care, and processing diagnostic images for radiologists.

Responsibilities

Conduct x-ray examinations in accordance with the highest standard of safety, courtesy, morality, and privacy

Responsible for the care of the patient during the performance of the x-ray examination in accordance with medical staff instructions

Render emergency assistance if needed

Applying proper patient identification and labeling of images using indelible markers. Acquires x-ray images as ordered and indicated on the Radiology Information System (RIS) or as on the printed Control sheet

Process high quality diagnostic images so Radiologist can use them to make clinical diagnosis for continuation of patient care

Accurately enter patient identifying information into RIS/PACS/Modality

Provide adequate radiation protection measures for patients

Maintain imaging room in clean, neat condition

Notify Supervisors and co-workers of equipment issues, maintenance needs that may contribute to reduction in safety of the patient or other hospital employees

Required

High School diploma or equivalent required

Graduate from an X-Ray technologist program

Current NY State License for X-Ray technology, required

Or must have completed an accredited course, issued a temporary license, and obtain NY State license within six (6) months from the issuance date of the temporary license

Familiar with the needs of all infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients

Must know and use proper exposure techniques for all examinations to produce radiographs according to standards set by Director and Attending Radiologist

Must know and follow rules and regulations regarding radiographic techniques

Able to read and follow identified tests related to imaging

Ability to fully utilize OBH Radiology electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position

Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day

Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing or exerting force up to 75 pounds
