Senior Galvanizing Furnace and Thermal Process Engineer

Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert on thermal process engineering and system integration for heavy industrial applications
Design integrated furnace systems, mechanical machinery, and related controls for industrial steel lines, including functional descriptions and process control logic
Lead and mentor junior engineers, while reviewing and approving complex technical work
Coordinate technical interfaces across disciplines—ensuring design consistency, schedule alignment, code compliance, and safety planning
Serve as a technical liaison between engineering teams, project managers, customers, consultants, and global stakeholders
Support all project phases, including design reviews, procurement input, customer communication, and documentation
Provide onsite support during installation, startup, and commissioning—including troubleshooting and optimization
Participate in both domestic and international travel to project sites as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related field; equivalent technical experience will be considered
8–10 or more years of engineering experience, with a significant portion in thermal processing or heavy industrial environments
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with steel fabrications, piping systems, weldments, and structural equipment
Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering project coordination role
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly in a cross-functional, multicultural environment
Preferred
Experience with furnace systems, combustion, annealing, quenching, tempering, or galvanizing processes
Familiarity with metallurgy, industrial atmosphere gases, insulation systems, and heat recovery techniques
Exposure to automation and electrical control systems (e.g., PLCs, HMI, SCADA)
Proficiency with CAD and engineering design tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor); knowledge of NFPA, FM, UL, or NEC requirements is a plus
PE license, PMP/CAPM certification, or similar credentials preferred
