Senior Project Manager - Transit & Rail (PM)
GFT is a privately held AEC firm specializing in the intersection of transportation, water, power, and buildings. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and manage a Program Management / Construction Management Team overseeing the Design-Build of a major bus facility in Washington DC, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Serve as the Project Manager and primary point of contact for the owner
Manage all aspects of client, project / construction management, and Design-Build teams for Battery Electric Bus (BEB) facility
Full managerial responsibility for all aspects of the project including scope development and adherence, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and financial management
Actively manage the client’s requirements for budget, schedule and program, project communications and documentation
Manage scopes of service involving substantial risk and complexity
Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed and all project plans
Responsible for managing and delivering quality transportation projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in project management, construction management, business, or related field managing large projects
Relevant bus or rail facility construction experience, preferably BEB facility
Experience with Progressive Design-Build (PDB) and hybrid Design-Build / Construction Manager at Risk (DB/CMR) and other incentive-based delivery methods
Proven ability to manage complex budgets and schedules
Knowledge of working in a public sector environment
Ability to pass a government background check
Local to Washington DC Metropolitan Area and ability to work full-time on the project site
Preferred
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, business, or related field
Professional Engineer Designation (P.E.) is required
PMP preferred
American Institute of Architects (AIA) Certification and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is preferred
A minimum of 10 years' experience managing large bus or rail transit related projects or programs
Strong interpersonal skills with a special focus on working with diverse and cross-cultural teams
Demonstrated leadership in leading large-scale projects as well as project development ranging from planning, alternatives analysis, environmental process, permitting, final design, construction, safety certification and commissioning facilities
