Responsibilities

Assist with driving growth strategy for Plains District business within the noted geographic area of the South Plains and strategically grow our Natural Resources and Permitting (NRP) services

Manage local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with South Plains Leadership Team, Plains Leadership Team, and Regional Leader

Integrate as the 'face of the company' locally and across the geographic region with clients, industry, and within WSP

Expand our existing client base, offering NRP services to existing and new clients

Utilize our extended reach of technical and subject matter experts (SMEs) across regions, districts, offices and the globe to foster new and innovative client delivery

Work with the South Plains Leadership Team, Plains Leadership Team, other Business Leaders and the Regional Leader to attract the best industry talent by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity and invites broad, creative thinking – crafting a more attractive place to work, grow and thrive

Collaborate closely within South Plains to promote WSP culture, employee satisfaction, and performance

Emphasize employee training and development to create a unique work experience

Inspire, motivate and promote the best of WSP to our clients and communities to ensure strong employee engagement and morale

Support programs such as Safety, Sustainability and Ethics & Compliance

Optimize the client and employee experience through regular reviews while embracing process improvement

Focus on innovation, collaboration and improving quality

Assist with development of local growth, and contribute to business development strategy in collaboration with Team Leads, Local Business Leaders, Region and National Business Line Leaders

Collaborate with Leadership to strategically drive the business, assess and suggest improvements for project performance

Leverage our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings

Foster the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry

Advance the strategic direction of the district and region in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan

Encourage, support and promote the technical and professional development of local WSP staff

Demonstrate the highest levels of quality excellence in technical performance and assurance through innovative thinking and application of state-of the-art tools

Provide leadership as well as management and oversight roles in guiding others in producing high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals

Proactively inspire others to be responsive, reliable, and collaborative team players

Acts as a role model for company value

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field

12+ years of Environmental Science experience in a corporate environment

Strong working knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and the business impact upon the organization

Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization

Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment

Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists

Advanced proficiency with office automation and communication software, technology, and tools used in the corporate environment

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs

Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Preferred

Master's Degree is preferred

Essential professional licensure/certification

Experience in managing the review of documents and preparation of discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable
