They are seeking a Senior Director to lead their contracts and alliances group, responsible for negotiating various agreements and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support research and development programs.

Responsibilities

Lead and negotiate a wide variety of agreements in support of Calico’s research and development programs

Provide business, contractual and intellectual property support for Calico’s external collaborations and internal research activities

Collaborate closely with Calico scientists and external academic and industry collaborators

Support a number of active research collaborations

Collaborate closely with several internal groups, including Senior Leadership, Alliance Management, Finance, and project teams

Required

Bachelor's Degree required

Applicants must have extensive industry or academic/institutional experience with a minimum of 10 years of experience in contracts negotiation/management or business development roles that require working closely with current and/or prospective partners

Prior experience negotiating a wide variety of agreements in a research-focused healthcare company

Prior experience providing advice and managing an intellectual property portfolio, in collaboration with IP counsel

The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication, independent decision-making and analytical skills, the capacity to manage and respond to multiple priorities, as well as a proven ability to build both internal and external relationships with scientific stakeholders and successfully advance collaborations

Must be willing to work onsite at least four days per week
