MFG Test Technician Intern

Responsibilities

Support the senior Test Manufacturing Engineer who is the first escalation point of contact for testing and programming operations: Leak Test, Final Run Test, Motor Programming, and Controller Programming
Support proper operation and maintenance of testing and programming equipment on all assembly and support lines
Assure accessories used for testing operation are available for immediate replacement if necessary: Thermocouples, control cables, power plugs
Support the senior Test Manufacturing Engineer in troubleshooting failures of heat pumps and test equipment to locate root cause and provide resolution
Data analysis, report issues, and findings using the FPY report
Assist in training of operators at 'Run-off' stations to ensure tests are being properly performed
Identify and resolve improvement opportunities and gaps with training
Create and update work instructions to reflect current procedures in testing and validate improvement ideas with the test engineer
Recognize deficiencies in the test process and find options for improvement together with senior Test Manufacturing Engineer

Required

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college and pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in manufacturing engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
Must possess a minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must be able to speak, read and write English

Preferred

Previous experience working in a team environment preferred
Ability to use, electrical wiring diagrams and work instructions to assure 100%-unit compliance with quality standards and engineering design
Effective problem-solving skills using proven problem-solving methods
Good written and oral communication skills
Solid Project planning and project management skills
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrates discipline and consistency regarding adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures
Ability to read and apply work instructions, follow directions, understand and execute safety and quality procedures
Familiar with CD CAD modeling
Basic understanding of electricity and how it functions
Programming/scripting knowledge
