Responsibilities

Select and apply appropriate design criteria to perform minor, major, and complex roadway/highway transportation design assignments

Performs basic engineering calculations

Assists in the preparation of engineering project documents, pertaining to specific projects

Prepare high quality contract documents (plans, specifications, and estimates) for the construction of roadway/drainage projects

Prepares site/engineering assessments, facilitates permit sketches and permitting processes

Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions

Utilizes relevant software programs to prepare exhibits and complex working drawings

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned, and able to be cross trained for related roadway disciplines including drainage, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and signalization design

Ability to work as a team member on small and large Transportation projects

Ability to work under direct supervision of a Senior Project Engineer

Skills in evaluating, selecting, specifying, and engineering systems or products for a project

Ability to assist with development of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, engineering reports and studies for infrastructure projects

Ability to select and apply appropriate design criteria to perform minor, major, and complex roadway/highway transportation design assignments
