ADC Engineer, Platform Engineering & Emerging Technology (PEET)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ADC Engineer to support its CloudTrail and AWS Config services within the Platform Engineering & Emerging Technology (PEET) team. The role involves designing, deploying, monitoring, and automating infrastructure and tools to ensure a highly-available platform for customers, particularly in support of U.S. Government agencies.

Responsibilities

Investigating new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers
Taking a proactive approach to maintaining service health by investigating performance outliers through metric analysis and log diving
Increasing service knowledge by diving deep into its architecture to better understand system configuration and dependencies. Applying that knowledge to prioritize work across the team, in order to delight customers
Studying and learning along some of the industry’s top experts on cloud computing and storage
Building and launching AWS services from ordering hardware to deploying software
Participating in an on-call rotation. Analyzing repeat issues and defining solutions
Modifying and/or optimizing solutions for isolated networks
Inspection of security practices, and application of best practices
Supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve unique technical problems

Required

Associate's degree or above, or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
3+ years of experience operating in a Unix, Linux, or Red Hat environment
3+ years of experience implementing automated software testing, scripting, deployment, and performance analysis systems
3+ years of experience of proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred

5+ years experience with cloud computing technologies
5+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments
5+ years experience troubleshooting
3+ years of networking experience
3+ years of experience with performance and log analysis
