Responsibilities
Utilize SolidWorks and other CAD software to create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings of details, assemblies, and installations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure models and drawings reflect project requirements and design intent
Interpret and incorporate redlines, sketches, and markups to produce or update models and drawings
Ensure all models and drawings are accurate, complete, and adhere to company standards and best practices
Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure engineering data is usable by manufacturing, suppliers, and quality functions
Incorporate revisions, track changes, and maintain version control throughout the project lifecycle
Understand and maintain configuration management through use of engineering procedures
Utilize a PDM to manage product data and documentation
Contribute to processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the work
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Five or more years' experience in computer aided modeling and drafting
Direct experience conducting engineering drafting for aerospace applications
Proficient in mechanical drawings, ASME Y14.5 GD&T
Good mechanical intuition - excellent at understanding how components interact in larger mechanical systems
Outstanding attention to detail
Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and mechanical assembly
Proficient in basic math
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
Preferred
Associate's degree or higher
Experience with SolidWorks
Experience with SolidWorks PDM or 3DX
