Muon Space is a small and fast growing startup that designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations. The Systems Engineering Intern will take ownership of projects related to system and mission design, develop system models, and engage in testing activities, all while collaborating with experienced aerospace professionals.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of or contribute to cross-functional projects spanning hardware, software, mission operations and data delivery

Develop system models, simulations, and analyses to support architecture decisions, performance validation, and test campaigns

Define and manage system requirements, interfaces, and verification plans

Initiate or assist in system-level integration and test campaigns, including designing and improving test setups and procedures

Engage in testing and analysis activities in the lab, either on the bench or with integrated flight hardware

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals across multiple disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software)

Demonstrated proficiency in a programming or scripting language for analysis and modeling (e.g., Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Julia, C++)

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to approach complex, multi-disciplinary challenges from a first-principles perspective

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
