ENGINEERING SUPPORT TECHNICIAN III
City and County of Honolulu is seeking an Engineering Support Technician III to support professional and environmental engineering activities. The role involves surveying industrial and commercial wastewater generators, processing permit applications, and coordinating public outreach programs.

Responsibilities
Surveying existing and potential industrial and commercial generators of wastewater as required by the Revised Ordinances of Honolulu and applicable State and Federal pretreatment rules and regulations
Reviewing and processing Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit (IWDP) applications, identifying possible Significant Industrial Users, and assigning appropriate Standard Industrial Classification codes and pretreatment devices
Organizing and maintaining database for IUS and IWDPs including enforcement related tasks as it relates to surveying and permitting
Coordinating and conducting events, exhibits, and outreach programs for public awareness on pretreatment and source control issues
Performing and supporting engineering and administrative support related tasks and projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from high school with courses in mathematics
Five years of technical experience in engineering oriented support functions such as in research, data collection and analysis, inspection, testing, designing, surveying and/or drafting activities
Possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State driver's license, as required
Preferred
Extensive computer/database management skills
