Cell Technology Modeling Engineer
Tesla is looking for a Cell Technology Modeling Engineer to investigate next generation energy products and contribute to Tesla’s knowledge base. The engineer will perform in-depth analysis of existing data, suggest necessary tests, and construct models of new technologies based on limited data.

Responsibilities
Communicate with different teams across the globe, including travel (up to 20%)
Analyze novel technologies’ data and claims, ascertaining they are reasonable and reproducible
Suggest additional tests that are necessary for Tesla to correctly value novel products
Analyze test results to provide insight on cell behavior and degradation mechanisms
Construct lifetime, electrochemical, and economic models for next generation products based on limited data
Qualification
Required
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
3 years of industry experience modeling energy products with a physics and chemistry background
Strong background in numerical methods and a good physics and chemical understanding of energy products
Modeling (electrochemical, thermal, lifetime) experience – this role requires translating limited data and claims into quantifiable models
Excellent communication skills across language and cultural barriers
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to meet different teams face-to-face
