Responsibilities
Design flagship learning experiences, driving end-to-end solutions that balance usability, delight, and visual excellence
Lead by example in motion and interaction design, setting a new standard for clarity, polish, and engagement through animation and transitions
Explore and prototype AI-powered experiences that personalize learning paths, simplify workflows, and unlock new creative possibilities
Raise the visual design bar for the team, ensuring our UI is not only functional but distinctive and competitive
Serve as a hands-on thought leader, shaping design critiques, mentoring peers, and elevating the craft culture across Udemy’s global design org
Collaborate deeply with product and engineering partners, ensuring your designs are feasible, performant, and implemented with fidelity
Influence design direction at a strategic level through storytelling and prototypes, without managing direct reports
Qualification
Required
10+ years of product design experience, including consumer-facing products at scale
A portfolio that demonstrates full-stack design excellence—interaction, visual design, systems thinking, and shipped work that has real impact
Expertise in motion and animation, with proven ability to make products feel alive, fluid, and intuitive
Strong visual sensibility: typography, hierarchy, color, and layout at a pixel-perfect level
Fluency with modern design and prototyping tools, including experience with AI-assisted design workflows
Ability to inspire peers and influence executives through the strength of your design craft and storytelling
Experience contributing to or extending design systems, ensuring consistency while pushing innovation
A passion for lifelong learning and a desire to make education more accessible, engaging, and transformative worldwide
