Application Analyst (Senior, Mid, or Associate Level)

The Senior Application Analyst will enhance, support, and maintain applications within the UPHS health system, manage projects, and provide technical guidance to team members. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize system functionality and ensure adherence to change management protocols.

Responsibilities
Enhancing, supporting, and maintaining an application within the UPHS health system
Providing instruction on various technical topics to other team members
Managing an application project through the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives
Coordinating the development of new functionality, testing, and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects
Serving as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirements, and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, and data integrity
Working with cross-functional teams and UPHS clients by providing education on system functionality and configuration of new tools to increase end-user productivity within the application
Ensuring system changes follow change management procedures and protocols, creating and maintaining all documentation for all assigned applications, and developing, planning, and executing testing for supported applications
Communicating all necessary application changes, enhancements, and procedures to all necessary internal department teams
Participating in an application project by setting clear goals and objectives, and completing tasks in a timely manner
Managing project plan, monitoring tasks and milestones, and reporting project changes/status to Lead Application Analyst
Working with the Lead Application Analyst to develop new policies and procedures relating to system design, enhancements, change control, and maintenance of the application
Participating in new hire application training, mentoring and instruction on internal processes, and educating application analysts on various projects; including testing, documenting, and configuration within the application
Interpreting and analyzing complex workflow/system requirements in order to design, configure, test, and implement application solutions
Defining system requirements and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, and data integrity
Creating and maintaining all documentation for assigned applications in order to establish standards for configuration and enhancements within the application
Developing and executing test plans that are comprehensive and inclusive of application functionality changes and/or enhancements to ensure successful outcomes
Participating in system upgrades and scheduled vendor releases as requested to enhance the application and meet project objectives
Working with the Lead Application Analyst to develop departmental standards regarding change control to ensure accurate data tracking and monitoring change process by maintaining current protocols and reporting any problems to appropriate personnel
Working independently on complex projects completing within the designated timeframe and under minimal guidance
Providing ongoing support and maintenance as assigned
Performing duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Qualification
Required
H.S. Diploma/GED with 7+ years Relevant experience and 5+ years Healthcare IT
Or Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years Relevant experience and 0-1 years and Healthcare IT
Strong quantitative and analytical abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
Ability to assist with basic hardware configurations, database management tools and query language
Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems
Must be able to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service to clients
Applications experience in either an application support or implementation role
Knowledge of healthcare operations and data structures and the use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment
H.S. Diploma/GED with 3+ years Relevant experience and 5+ years Healthcare IT
Or Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years Relevant experience and 0-1 years and Healthcare IT
Strong communication skills with all levels of staff and personnel
Ability to implement process improvements
Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems

H.S. Diploma/GED required, AND at least 1 year of directly related paid IT experience, preferably in healthcare
Or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field (individuals with other majors may be considered with internship or other IT related experience)

Demonstrated Project Management Skills
Knowledge of healthcare operations and data structures and the use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment
Thorough knowledge of all technical and clinical aspects of position functions

Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems
Experience With Infor CloudSuite Modules Is Highly Preferred
