Environmental Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities

Assisting Senior Project Managers and Principals with planning, organizing and conducting environmental site investigations
Overseeing and documenting environmental remedial actions
Conducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculations
Performing/reviewing environmental site assessments
Developing health and safety plans and managing implementation and compliance with GZA Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures during on-site activities
Monitoring subcontractor performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets
Preparing environmental reports and work plans with Project Manager and Principal guidance and review
Providing business development support and assisting in proposal preparation
Communicating effectively and efficiently with clients and team members
Managing and mentoring GZA’s junior staff of project-level engineers/geologists

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related Environmental Science discipline
5+ years of experience at consulting engineering firms and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations of Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Ability to perform and manage field tasks and activities
Experience executing a wide range of environmental site investigation and site remediation projects
Strong interest in safety
Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
Professional judgment, consistency, strong attention to detail, and background of high-quality work products
Independent analysis, problem solving and strong organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hr refresher status
Availability to work Monday through Friday and some evenings and weekends
Ability to travel locally and regionally
A valid driver's license in good standing
